Frequently Asked Questions:

WHY DO WE HAVE RETREATS? WHAT DO WE DO ON RETREATS?

Retreats are all about growing in our faith. For some, that is taking the first steps in faith and for others, going much deeper. We offer retreats for students to take whatever next step is necessary for their faith. In addition to growing closer with God, retreats open up opportunities for students and leaders to grow closer together through a fun and comfortable environment.

WHO IS THIS RETREAT FOR?

The high school retreat is open to ALL students in 9th-12th grade. NO prior attendance or membership to HOPE is required. We greatly encourage students to invite and bring their friends on a retreat with us!

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

We are going to Gretna Glen Camp and Retreat Center in Lebanon, PA. The facility is great! You can find out more on their website: GretnaGlen.org.

WILL WE BE FED?

Yes! Of course! You will need money for dinner on Friday night as we will stop on the way to get some food. The camp will cook three meals for us on Saturday and two on Sunday. You will not go hungry. If you have any dietary restrictions, please make sure you make note of those on the Emergency Contact form (in this booklet).

WHAT IF I CAN’T AFFORD TO GO?

There are times when the financial burden is too great. For those times, we have occasional financial scholarships. If you are on the other end financially and you would happy to support a student who couldn’t afford to attend otherwise, please contact Pastor Dave.

WHO IS THE SPEAKER THIS WEEKEND?

We are so excited to announce that we are bringing back Salt n Light Youth Min- istry to lead our sessions this year. They will provide a dynamic time of worship through music and message while challenging students on a deeper level. You can check out their website—snlym.com

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING? WHY NO CELL PHONES?

There is a packing list in this booklet. Keep in mind that it will be cold, so dress warmly! Other important items include bedding, towels and toiletries. We do not allow cell phones on any of our trips and retreats. This has been our policy for at least nine years. We believe it to be vital for the weekend for social reasons as well as safety reasons. If you would like to discuss further or have concern, please do not hesitate to contact Pastor Dave.

WE CAN PAY ONLINE THIS YEAR? YES!

YES! There is a $3 fee to pay online, (because the credit card and banking com- panies need their cut) but it is completely safe and secure. You can still do that through our online registration option.
