Community Arts at HOPE is a place where people are encouraged to express and nurture their God-given creative spirit.

Announcing the Spring 2012 season of Community Arts at HOPE…. Each session runs six weeks.

Scripts That Sizzle :

Randy Petersen, Instructor

If you enjoy writing and creating dialogues to tell a story, this class is for you.The combination of theatrical presentation with wordsmithing creates unique challenges and exciting opportunities. Longtime freelance author, script writer and director, Randy Petersen, will lead a six-week class in the process of writing scenes and plays for live performance and video. 

Mondays 7 – 9pm beginning March 12

Sacred Place Yoga I

Robin Fulton, 200RYT

This class is especially designed for the beginner or the person who prefers a slower pace.  Find an inner place of peace with gentle yoga postures incorporating breathing, movement and silent meditation/prayer to find your sacred place to connect with God.

Tuesdays 5:30 - 6:30pm beginning March 13

Sacred Place Yoga II

Robin Fulton, 200RYT

This basic yoga class is for those with yoga experience or beginners who prefer amore active pace. Release stress, increase strength and tone while finding a still quiet place to connect with God.

Tuesdays 6:45 - 7:45pm beginning March 13

Walk Live – Daly!

Dorothy Daly, Certified Instructor

Certified as a Walk Leader by Leslie Sansone, Dorothy will lead women through a low impact walking-based exercise routine including instruction and discussion on the spiritual theme of the week.  

Thursdays 6:30– 7:30pm beginning March 15

(Adult Women)

Aerobics with Alx

Alx Davis, Certified Instructor

With Christian praise music, you will laugh, sweat, dance and work your way into a healthier life.  This is a full body workout incorporating low impact aerobics, light toning and Pilates mat floor work.

Saturdays 10– 11am beginning March 17

(High School Youth and Adults)

Art Journaling:

Barbara Randazzo, Instructor

Art journaling is a tool to give physical form to one's thoughts, expectation, dreams and realities. It is a creative process that combines visual art with words to capture and express your spiritual journey. Each week participants will work on new techniques and practices and have time to share projects and experiences with each other. No previous artistic experience is necessary to participate in this class.

Saturdays 9:30 - 11am beginning March 17

(High School Youth and Adults)

Fee: $65 (includes basic materials provided by instructor.)

Back for its THIRD Season

Music/Drama Camp

3rd - 9th Graders

August 6 - 17, 2012

You read that right, 3rd through 9th graders. This year all students entering 3rd through 9th grade the fall of 2012 are eligible to participate in this summer’s Music/Drama Camp. Camp runs from 8:30am to 12 noon, Monday through Friday, beginning August 6 with a performance on Thursday evening, August 16. Come experience the process of producing a musical:  creating sets, costumes, learning songs, dances, and drama. This year’s production State Road 47, retells three parables of Jesus (from the Gospel of Luke) that happened "along the road".  With hilarious characters and memorable music and a whirlwind two-week performance art experience, you won’t want to miss being part of the action.
