THE ANSWERS:

One thing I love about my role on staff …

Being able to see people connect with God in a powerful way through worship is a privilege that I cannot fully explain.  As a worshiper of Jesus myself, I am trying to constantly be looking for God’s glory around me; through His creation, through His grace, through people and even through song.  When I see eyes open and lives change because people have encountered the living God, it brings everything I do and the reason I am at HOPE into focus.

A time I saw God at work in my life …

When I first came on staff as a worship leader at a local church.  My family was going through an incredibly difficult time and I didn’t believe that I could do nor was initially willing to do what was being asked of me, but I walking ahead by faith to the calling that was placed in front of me.  Looking back now, I can clearly see God preparing my heart, experiences and training for this moment and path.  In the rear-view mirror, God’s hand and provision are so clear.

A book that rocked my world (in addition to the Bible) …

“Prodigal God” by Timothy Keller. I could have mentioned others with similar themes to this work, but I suppose this book stands out because it was one of the first that really helped me see the way that God, the Father, desires my heart and that the true older brother is Jesus, for it is in his perfection, not my own attempts at being good and righteous, that make me at home with the Father.

One reason I think people should check out HOPE Church …

The way we encourage people to take the next step in their faith in Jesus.  Whether it be a first step or a thousandth, there is always more to the journey, more to our understanding, more to our life with God.  I believe that we @ HOPE are in that way always seeking.

Name a hobby that you’d love to get into but probably never will …

Playing ice hockey.  Specifically, goalie.  I played street hockey as a kid, but never made the full transition.  Maybe after I am 40, but time and money will make that tough.  I still dream of having Patrick Roy skills, right?  And if you love hockey, you know exactly who I am talking about.  And if not, whelp, I am sorry, ha!
