What, exactly, does it take to become a “member” of the HOPE congregation?

Because we value your time and your willing spirit to continue on your journey of faith, we’ve developed our H7 program.

H7 is a component-based educational opportunity giving you flexibility as you learn foundational truths important to the HOPE family. By rotating the sessions, you may pick them at your own pace. That way, if you’re available for one class one month, but can’t attend another class until another month, you’re still on track. H7 classes are available to everyone, members and non-members alike. Classes are held in the chapel each Sunday morning at 9 am.

Here's our 2012 winter lineup:

  • January 22 - Session 1 HOPE's Story: Vision, Values & Virtues - Discover the principles that make HOPE distinct
  • January 29 - Session 2 God's Story of Redemption - An overview of God's rescue mission from Eden to the Empty Tom
  • February 5 - Session 4: The Story of the Early Church - What is a church? How did the Christian movement begin. Discussion involves a survey of the book of Acts
  • February 12 - Session 5: The Church's Story Through Time - What happened to Christianity after Bible times? Workshop covers key issues in history and explores what it means to be a Methodist
  • February 19 - Session 3 Your Story of Faith and Growth - Discussion of some basic practices of the Christian life--prayer, Scripture reading, surrender
  • February 26 - Session 6 You and HOPE: A Love Story - We believe in connections, with God and others. Discussion will cover the importance of Worship, Service and Community
  • March 4 - Session 7 Our Story: Moving Forward Together A preview of what is expected of HOPE members
