Help for Haiti

161006121216-01-hurricane-matthew-haiti-1006-exlarge-169HOPE Church is accepting a special offering to help provide immediate relief to Haiti. We will partner with the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and all donations will go directly to help the people of Haiti.

Hurricane Matthew, the first Category 4 storm to hit Haiti in more than half a century, slammed into the country’s southwest peninsula exacting a heavy toll on human lives, the country’s infrastructure, agriculture and houses. According to reports, more than 900 people have been confirmed dead so far with officials expecting that number to rise.

We are relieved to report that our friends from the House of Abraham Orphanage and School are all safe with only some damage sustained to their property. HOPE will send its sixth adult mission team to Haiti, March 2017.

Haiti remains the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and is still working to recover from the 2010 catastrophic earthquake that killed more than a quarter of a million people.

You may, if you are so led, give to this special offering by clicking here and going to the drop down menu under Giving Type, or by check with “Haiti” written in the memo line.
