Help HOPE Feel Like Home
When we welcome guests into our homes, we do everything in our power to make them feel at ease. And, that’s just what HOPE’s Connections ministry strives to do each Sunday for all who walk through our church doors.
The Ten Team is a newly launched group of volunteers who commit once a month to spend ten minutes before, and ten minutes after, the Sunday worship service they usually attend doing the important work of meeting and greeting guests in their section.
“Many of us have forgotten what it’s like to come into a church for the first time,” says HOPE’s Connections Director and Youth Pastor, Dave Falcone. “It can be pretty intimidating. Newcomers can often feel awkward and anxious.”
That’s where the Ten Team comes in, explains Dave. “Just saying hi, introducing yourself to people you haven’t met yet, and making small talk with them will go a long way in helping them feel comfortable.”
No experience is necessary to become a part of the Ten Team. If you would like additional information or to volunteer to become a part of the Ten Team, email Dave Falcone or Connections Coordinator, Vickie Crews.
