HOPE Church Picnic – Sunday, June 30

Old-Fashioned, But Good
A perennial favorite, the annual church picnic has been a tradition long enjoyed by many generations of churchgoers young and old. Last year, HOPE revisited the popular custom and found it to be a wonderful way to connect with one another as a community of faith.
Families and friends gathered at Camp FAC off Kettle Run Road in Evesham for some good, old-fashioned fun. In spite of record heat, picnickers enjoyed swimming, boating, volleyball and lots of delicious food … A great way to launch the summer season.
This year, we will return to the campsite owned by the Fellowship Alliance Church on Sunday, June 30, 12 noon to 5pm. It’s hard to believe these beautiful campgrounds are only a little over 5 miles away from HOPE. A short, 10-minute drive after Sunday worship is all it takes to join the fun. The advance ticket price is $6 per person. Kids under 5 can go free. Just go to to register and pay. Cost at the door will be $10 per person. (A certified lifeguard will be stationed at the swimming area.) We are asking picnickers to bring a side dish to share. We will provide the hot dogs, hamburgers, and beverages.
One of the most significant moments of last year’s event, was the baptism of two adults and four teens in the lake. Open to all, baptism is an opportunity to identify with Jesus’ experience and demonstrate outwardly a willingness to die to our old life, and rise up and embrace a new one as a Christ follower. If you wish to be baptized, or if you have already been baptized but desire to reaffirm it in this way, please feel free to email Pastor Jeff Bills at or Pastor Rick Court at
A church picnic … A time to relax, slow down and get away from the technology, the Internet, the DVR, and the 24/7, hurry-up pace we all live in. A church picnic … Old-fashioned, but good.
See you there!
