The Power of VBS
by Christine Graves, Coordinator of Children's Ministries
Vacation Bible School is just one of the many things we do in Children’s Ministry to further develop a relationship between Jesus and a child. Done well, it can be one of the most influential experiences in a young person’s life. For so many kids it is a week which deepens their relationship with Christ, and for others it may be the first step in their faith journey. Wherever they are in their faith walk, it is our hope to touch every child that comes through the door in a powerful and unforgettable way!
VBS this year is called - Power Lab and it is just a few short months away. Join us from July 21st to July 25th from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. Kids, ages three years to 5th grade, will discover Jesus’ miraculous power as they adventure together to learn about how Jesus heals, helps, and gives power to those who need Him. Children learn through hands-on activities, experiments, games, songs, and stories. They learn how to apply biblical truths to their very own lives and have the opportunity to serve others in a real way.
Lots of children, plus lots of fun, equals lots of volunteers! If you are wondering how you can help, there are two ways. First, we need people who love the Lord and love children. Whether you are able to help one day or all five, you are needed! You can sign up in the lobby this week and next week, or sign-up by following the links on the HOPE Web site’s Children’s Ministries page at MeetHope.org.
The second way to help is to make a donation. There will be curriculum, craft supplies, snacks, decoration and much, much, more needed to make VBS fun and meaningful. You can make donations in the lobby today and next Sunday, or contact me anytime.
How do you register your child or children? It’s so easy… fill out a registration form in the lobby, or log on to our VBS Web site through linking from the HOPE site and simply fill out the form there. Then get excited because we are going on an amazing Bible adventure!!
