Tony Campolo to speak at HOPE by Jeff Bills, Lead Pastor
One of the things that HOPE has done effectively over our history is create “ports of entry” into our church. We have been very intentional in creating opportunities for people who are looking for a community of faith, to check us out. I want to highlight a couple of events that will be coming up in the next few months and encourage you to invite some friends, neighbors, or family members.
I am excited that Dr. Tony Campolo will be at HOPE on Sunday, November 9th at both our 9 and 10:30 services. Dr. Campolo is a sought-after speaker both nationally and internationally because of his intellect, passion, and humor in addressing important issues of our day. Tony came into national prominence when he served as a spiritual advisor to President Bill Clinton. Tony has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, Larry King Live and the Cobert Report to name a few. He has authored 35 books including his most recent, Red Letter Christians. This is a great opportunity for you to invite someone to join you at HOPE.
HOPE will be having a Christmas tree lighting out on the lawn. Thanks to our Guys Group (formerly Men’s Ministry!) a 17- foot, blue spruce was donated and soon will be planted in front of the church. We will be inviting people from the area to come join us for a old-fashioned tree lighting. Music, hot beverages, goodies for the children, and a warm welcome will make for a fun event for all.
HOPE Church was founded and built one invitation at a time. It has been amazing to see how God uses small gestures, like inviting someone to an event, to ignite a spark of faith.
