Applying for Lead 101: 2017

LEAD 101 is a student leadership program for committed students in 7th-12th grade with a vision that seeks to empower students to use their gifts to serve within God’s Ministry.

We are looking for students that are committed to growing in their relationship with Christ, as well as serving in Christ’s kingdom. These students will be involved in different activities throughout the year, which includes a weekend retreat, regular monthly leadership training sessions, and opportunities for serving in various capacities within the HOPE community.

To be considered for Lead 101, students must throughly complete the following application, as well as seek out an adult, same gender, non-parent mentor who can help guide students in their spiritual growth as young leaders.

All students in 9th-12th grade (that have been actively involved in our ministry for the past year) are welcome to complete an application for the program. Students must be currently actively involved Hope’s Youth Ministry to be considered. Students in 7th and 8th grades must be invited to apply to the program by the Lead 101 Team. It is encouraged that all students interested speak to a Lead 101 team member (Ashley Evans, Dave Falcone, Josh Bills) when deciding to apply for the program.

Lead 101 runs January – December of each year. Links to this year’s applications can be found below.All forms, signatures and money are due on or before November 6, 2016. Late sign-ups or incomplete applications will not be accepted. No exceptions.

Applications for Lead 101: 2017

** Please read carefully below and be sure you are completing the correct application.**

(All Applications MUST be submitted/received by November 6th, 2016. Any incomplete applications or applications received after this date will not be accepted.)

Prospective/New Student Leaders:

How to Apply:

  • Fill out the Lead 101 New Student Application. Please take your time, answer thoughtfully, and follow all instructions.
  • Read the How to Choose a Mentor document and start considering who a good mentor for you might be. Seek out this person and ask them to consider being your mentor.
  • Refer that person to the New Mentor Application.
  • You, your parent(s), and your mentor all must separately sign a  My Commitment 2017 form. This form contains all of the requirements of a student leader for the program year. Please PRINT a copy and keep it somewhere you will look at often.
  • Submit a payment for the program. Click HERE to pay online! The cost for the program year is $100. Cost covers payment for the Lead 101 retreat, materials for students, as well as materials for students and their mentors. 
  • Sign up for one of the Interview times. Interviews will be conducted on November 13, 2016. They are approximately 20 minutes each. Only 1 person per time slot!
  • See you at the interview!!!

Prospective/New Mentor:

How to Apply:

  • Fill out the New Mentor Application. Please make sure to read each page of the application thoroughly!
  • Sign off on the My Commitment 2017 page as acknowledgement that you have read and understand what your Lead 101 student is committing to.
  • You should be contacted by your Prospective Lead 101 Student after their admittance into the program.
  • Any questions, please contact Ashley Evans, Lead 101 Coordinator.
  • This all must be done by November 6, 2016. Nothing will be accepted after then!

Returning Lead 101 Students:

How to Apply:

  • Fill out the Lead 101 Student Re-Application. Please take your time, answer thoughtfully, and follow all instructions.
  • Refer your Mentor to the Mentor Re-Application.
  • You, your parent(s), and your mentor all must sign a  My Commitment 2017 form. This form contains all of the requirements of a student leader for the program year. Please PRINT a copy and keep it somewhere you will look at often.
  • Submit a payment for the program. Click HERE to pay online! The cost for the program year is $100. Cost covers payment for the Lead 101 retreat, materials for students, as well as materials for students and their mentors. 
  • Any questions, please contact Ashley Evans, Lead 101 Coordinator.

  • If necessary, the Lead 101 team may contact students who are re-applying for an interview. Do not sign up for an interview time unless asked to do so by the team.

Returning Mentor:

  • Sign off on the My Commitment 2017 page as acknowledgement that you have read and understand what your Lead 101 student is committing to.
