LIFE – It’s more than a game July 12

Proverbs 6:6-11

In the message on Sunday we heard that one of the biggest obstacles to growth (physical, spiritual, relational….) is inertia. Inertia is the “tendency to not move or remain at rest”. The way it typically works is we get complacent with behaviors, attitudes, ways of speaking to people that are negative and we know they are less than best. Over time we get comfortable with these negative aspects of our lives. Eventually we get stuck there … that’s inertia.

We’ve all experienced times of inertia/stuckness in one or more arena’s of our lives. Some examples include; your physical life, relationships with a family member or friend, work, finances, interactions with people different than you (racially, economically, theologically, politically….) – just to name a few. — Jeff Bills

Discusion Questions:

What do you think makes it so difficult to move when we get stuck in negative ways of behaving or speaking?

Godly wisdom is Truth in action. Wisdom, like Faith and Love are only real when they are acted on.

In what ways do you put the wisdom of God into practice in your life? Try to be as specific as possible.

What does the phrase “work in cooperation with the Holy Spirit” mean to you?
