Message Series: word. (God’s Word)
This Sunday, we were privileged to have guest speaker Steve Hoadley come and give SNL a little shot of adrenaline to get us going. He spoke about the nature of the Bible getting into why it’s unique and why it’s important to us. We focused on 2 Timothy 3:16-17 which says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” The point is, the Bible is unlike any other book. It’s infallible even though it was written over the course of some 1,500 years by many different people. It’s the primary way God communicates with us today. He’s given us an entire library of books to read in order to know him better. So, these are a couple things to think out loud about with your student(s) and family:
-Why should we read the Bible?
-What are some results of reading the Bible?
-Is there some system we have for how we read the Bible? If not, can we develop one?
The Bible is the foundation on which we stand. It’s the way we get to know Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith. For this reason, we believe it’s very important to study and spend time in. We should know it and love it. Even if you’re not much of a reader, we can’t afford to waste this supernatural gift God has given us. We pray your conversations with your family go well!!Filed Under: High School, iGroups, Just For Parents, Middle School, Youth, Youth Message Series
