PARENTS: Check out the 2016 Mission Trip Book
Moms and Dads, want to know what we will be learning and talking about on the trip? Check out a digital copy of our 2016 Trip Book. Follow along with us each day. Take your own notes. Spark some discussion for when your student gets home.
We put a lot of time carefully crafting this book to guide our week.
As human beings, we have a deep desire to feel known. Just look at our culture today! We are constantly trying to develop new ways to be seen, heard, noticed, and liked. We don’t slow down, for fear we will be glanced over, unnoticed, or missed.
But the reality of it is, we don’t have to try so hard to be known. In fact, we should stop trying so hard. Why? Because we are already fully known by a God bigger and better than anything or anyone of this world.
When we feel fully known, we feel encouraged, empowered and unrelenting in our pursuit of God and the gifts He has placed within us.
For this week, you are going to focus your attention towards 1 Chronicles 28:9-10 and learn what it means to discover how you are fully known by God:
And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. So take this seriously. The Lord has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary. Be strong, and do the work. (NLT)
So … take a deep breath. This week will challenge you, encourage you and push you, hopefully in a good way.
