To Know and To Do
John, who was one of Jesus’ most beloved disciples, was also the only one of the 12 who was not martyred. Legend has it that near the end of his life, Christians would go seek John’s counsel over various issues and struggles. John’s answer was always the same, “My dear children, love one another.” Whether or not this legend is true, the fact is, John’s letters are filled with love language. It is clear that the disciple who Jesus loved (John 13:23) wanted Christ-followers to know how much they were loved by God and needed to share that love with others.
In this two part series, we will look at what John wanted us to KNOW and to DO.
