We have several retreats throughout the year. It’s rather ironic that we call these trips retreats because they have really proven to serve to be some of the greatest times in which students spiritually advance. Worshiping with a group of people over the course over several days free from distractions is a wonderful formula for students to come in contact with the God of the Universe. It’s our hope that these weekends result in a dramatic and even subtle changes in a student’s lives.
Retreats are all about connections: improving the connections students have with each other, connections they build with the adult leaders, and most importantly with God.
Each November, we take our Middle School students to the Alive Conference hosted by Metro-Maryland Youth for Christ. This weekend entails thousands of middle schoolers embarking on Ocean City, MD the weekend before Thanksgiving. You can always check out Alive’s website for details about the conference and keep your eyes peeled in September for the registration form!
Each winter, we take our High Schoolers on a winter retreat to places like the Poconos. We host our own retreat which consists of a guest speaker (and sometimes a guest band!), a ton of hangout and group building time and, when the weather works out, tons of snow! Keep your eyes peeled in December for the registration form. For the exact weekend, you can check out our calendar.
