Finding Hope -Natalie
Natalie is a young woman serving in a Physical Therapist’s office/gym while continuing her education. Since my need for physical therapy was non-existent in 2018, I only knew of her friendly smile and outgoing manner. I’ve seen many young folks come and go from this establishment as stepping stones in their careers, so I was quite impressed when the owner told me that they were planning a going away party, open to all, on her last day. Obviously, Natalie made quite an impression with her employer and clients. This got me thinking about using your God given gifts for the sake of others.
Like every young person, Natalie had to assess her talents in order to select a lifetime career. By choosing physical therapy, she selected service to some of the most vulnerable members of society. People inflicted by accidents, disease, old age, strokes, war injuries, you name it. Clients with perfect bodies don’t come bouncing in to see a physical therapist. Therefore, compassionate care along with some tough love are as important as knowledge of human anatomy. You must inspire those who may be at their most vulnerable period emotionally. I’m confident Natalie has that skill.
In the religious community we often talk about people who get overwhelmed when life throws them a challenge. We also must recognize those people, like Natalie, who have dedicated their lives and God given talents to helping those people. By following her educational path today, she will be able to help those unknown, maybe even unborn as of this date. Natalie is one who offers hope to a hurting world. People will meet her as they crawl into the office. Natalie will have the skill to offer them a brighter future. She will give them hope that with effort, progress is possible. She will give them the motivation necessary to try and succeed. Natalie is fulfilling God’s mandate to make this world a better place.
